This contest was named, in loving memory, for George Hartley, an editor-extraordinaire.
EDITORIALS
will be judged on headline and lead arousal on interest - to be clear and
concise and imaginative and must have been published in an American Legion
publication during the year. Only editorials submitted by the original effort
of the editor will be
considered for this contest. 1.
ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS - please read and follow carefully - I
. Must be current member of FALPA 2.
Editor's name must appear in the publication. 3.
Submit 1 copy of the entire American Legion publication where
published 4.
COVERSHEET (a must and need) to include: a.
Name, Number of Post, and/or District, and/or Area b.
Address c.
Name of Publication d.
Name and address of editor e.
Category - 'George Hartley Best Editorial' 5.
Mail in flat envelope with a coversheet - marking
lower left hand comer 'George Hartley Best Editorial' POSTMARKED
BY MAY 31st. Mail to Trophy
Chairman. II.
JUDGES – Two professional journalists and the Trophy Chairman. Ill.
Any entry that does not meet all the above 'GEORGE HARTLEY BEST EDITORIAL
CONTEST' rules will be disqualified and NOT BE INCLUDED in the judging. Adopted July 2000. |
